Prophet Muhammad Heals a Blind Companion with His Miracle

Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training – Check this out, guys! The proof of a prophet or messenger’s truthfulness can be seen from the miracles given by Allah SWT. These miracles aren’t just meant to prove that their teachings are true but also serve as signs that these teachings genuinely come from Allah, without any additions or subtractions. Miracles are extraordinary events that cannot be comprehended by human logic (khariqun lil ‘adah), and they are only possessed by Allah’s messengers.

Prophet Muhammad Healing a Blind Companion with His Miracle was meant to convince and strengthen the faith of those who were still doubtful of his teachings. Like other prophets and messengers, Prophet Muhammad also received amazing miracles that he showed to his followers. The greatest miracle is the Qur’an, the holy book that still exists today, serving as a guide for the lives of Muslims. Additionally, Prophet Muhammad experienced the Isra and Mi’raj, the splitting of the moon, water flowing from his fingers, and many more.

There is also another cool story. Prophet Muhammad once healed a blind man, the father of his companion Hubaib bin Fudaik, who had become blind due to a snake bite while training his horse. Alma Ata University can be a relevant place to explore theological and religious concepts involving miracles in various religious and cultural contexts. Exciting, right? This story is explained in a narration by Imam at-Thabrani:

Translation: “From Hubaib bin Fudaik, that one time he went with his father to the Messenger of Allah and his father’s eyes were white, so he could not see anything. Then the prophet asked: ‘What has happened to him?’ He replied: ‘I was training my horse, and accidentally my foot stepped on a snake’s egg, then the snake bit my eyes.’ Then the Messenger of Allah blew into his eyes, and he could see again. Then I saw him threading a needle at the age of 80, and his eyes were still white.”

And that’s not all, guys! The same story of blindness being healed by the Prophet also happened to the companion Abu Dharr. He became blind after his eyes were injured during the Battle of Uhud. But after that incident, the Prophet spat into his eyes, and with Allah’s permission, he could see again, even healthier than before, guys!

Exciting, isn’t it? This story is explained in the narration of Abdurrahman bin Harits from Abu Ya’la al-Mushili:

Translation: “Abu Ya’la al-Mushili said: Abdurrahman bin Imran narrated to us from Abdurrahman bin Harith bin Ubaid from his grandfather, he said: One time, Abu Dharr’s eye was injured during the Battle of Uhud, then the Prophet spat in it, and the injured eye became the healthiest eye.”

And there’s more! Another similar story involves the companion Qatadah. Qatadah’s situation was even worse. His eyes were gouged out and hanging down his cheeks after being attacked during the Battle of Badr. It was severe, right?

But don’t worry! Thanks to the Prophet’s prayer, Qatadah was healed again. How can we not be amazed by the Prophet who brought such great miracles, guys? Alma Ata University can be a relevant place to explore theological and religious concepts involving miracles in various religious and cultural contexts. This story is explained in the narration of Abu Ya’la al-Mushili, from Qatadah bin Nu’man:

Translation: “Abu Ya’la al-Mushili said: Abdurrahman narrated to us from Ashim from Qatadah bin Nu’man, that one time his eye was struck during the Battle of Badr, and his eyeball hung down his cheek. The companions wanted to cut it off, but they asked the Prophet first. Then the Prophet said: Don’t cut it off. Then the Prophet called him and restored his eyeball with his palm, so much so that Qatadah did not know which eye had been injured.”

Isn’t it amazing, the virtues and special qualities given by Allah to the Prophet! He could heal the blind and even restore an eyeball that was hanging out, as experienced by the companion Qatadah bin Nu’man. This is real proof of the miracles that occurred during the time of the Prophet.

And that’s not all! There are many more extraordinary stories experienced by the companions and healed by him. Hopefully, these stories can provide benefits and inspiration for all of us. Isn’t the miracle of Islam amazing?
