Yogyakarta, June 6, 2024 – The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) of Wahid Hasyim University (Unwahas) Semarang conducted a benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) of Alma Ata University Yogyakarta. This visit aimed to strengthen cooperation in academic and research fields and improve the quality of education at both institutions through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
The event took place on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Alma Ata University Yogyakarta campus, attended by leaders from both faculties. This occasion marked an important milestone in expanding collaboration networks and exchanging experiences in implementing innovative academic programs.
The signing of the MoA between FAI Unwahas and FITK Alma Ata University was the highlight of the visit. Both parties agreed to collaborate in various aspects, including faculty and student exchanges, joint seminars, and the development of curriculum based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The Dean of FITK Alma Ata University, Dr. Ahmad Salim, M.Pd., stated that this collaboration is a strategic step in improving the quality of education. He emphasized that FAI Unwahas is a strategic partner with a shared vision of developing holistic and output-oriented education.
In addition to the MoA signing, the visit also included a benchmarking session, where both faculties shared experiences and best practices in implementing academic programs. FAI Unwahas introduced several innovations in Islamic education that have been applied on their campus, while FITK Alma Ata University presented the implementation of their ongoing OBE-based curriculum. Dr. Ahmad Salim, M.Pd., added that this benchmarking session not only focused on achievements but also on identifying ways to continuously grow and adapt to the changing needs of the education sector today.
The cooperation between FAI Unwahas and FITK Alma Ata University is expected to have a significant impact on improving the quality of education at both institutions. Concrete steps to be taken include the development of a joint work plan to implement the programs agreed upon in the MoA. Through this visit, both faculties are expected to continue strengthening their collaborative relationship and contributing meaningfully to the development of education in Indonesia. Dr. Ahmad Salim, M.Pd., is optimistic that this collaboration will result in new innovations that can be applied to the learning process at both universities.
