Inspired by his parents, who were also farmers, Sherwin often helped them with farming. Although his parents were initially skeptical, Sherwin was determined to transform agriculture into something more advanced and creative.

Sherwin boldly started his own farming business at the age of 15, with only knowledge from school, the internet, and self-teaching. Despite not being very skilled in theory, he focused on horticulture as his mainstay.
“I am self-taught, relying only on experience and searching on Google, and it turned out well,” said Sherwin.
Now, Sherwin is growing three types of local chili peppers on his farm: purple chili, huta gurgur chili, and simarato chili. The huta gurgur chili has been a family tradition, so Sherwin knows all its strengths and weaknesses.

However, farming also has its challenges, especially in highland areas. Harvests can only be done five months to once a year. In 2022, Sherwin planted chili peppers on 1.7 hectares of land with 25,000 holes. The result? Three tons every week, bro!
“At that time, someone asked, ‘Bro, are you selling the seeds?’ I thought about how to send the seeds out of town. Until now, they have been sold in various regions. I also share my knowledge on social media, and many are interested,” he continued.
