  3. The Conquest of Constantinople
    Prophet Muhammad stated, “The leader and the army that conquer Constantinople will be the best.” At that time, the Eastern Roman Empire was one of the largest empires besides Persia. This prophecy seemed doubtful but it motivated Muslims to strive for the conquest of Constantinople. Despite several failed attempts, the Ottoman Caliph, Muhammad al-Fatih, successfully conquered Constantinople in 857 AH / 1453 AD.
